Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

  • “Company” refers to BETA Waste Management Pty Ltd trading as North End Skips.
  • “Customer” refers to the person or business hiring the skip bin from the Company.
  • “Skip Bin” refers to the container hired by the Customer for waste disposal.
  • “Site” refers to the location where the skip bin is delivered and collected.

2. General Hire Terms

  • All Skip Bins remain the property of the Company at all times.
  • The Customer is responsible for any damage, loss or theft of the Skip Bin during the hire period. Costs of repair or replacement will be charged to the Customer.
  • The Company reserves the right to cancel or postpone any hire in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

3. Hire Period

  • The standard hire period is 7 days unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Extensions may incur additional fees and are subject to availability.

​4. Delivery and Collection

  • Prices include kerbside delivery and collection only.
  • The Company will use reasonable efforts to deliver and collect the Skip Bin at the times agreed but accepts no liability for delays beyond its control.
  • The Customer is responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the Site for delivery and collection.
  • If the Customer requests the Skip Bin be placed in a specific location, they must:
    • Notify the Company prior to delivery.
    • Ensure the location is clearly marked at the time of delivery.
  • Additional Charge: $250 will apply if the driver is unable to deliver or collect the Skip Bin due to lack of access, including but not limited to blocked driveways, vehicles in the way, or unsafe conditions.
  • Any delay due to inaccessible sites may result in additional charges.
  • The Company is not liable for any property or land damage caused during delivery or collection.

5. Placement of Skip Bin

  • The Customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits for placing the Skip Bin on public land or roads.
  • The Skip Bin must remain only at the location of delivery and must not be moved without the Company’s consent. If the bin is moved and becomes inaccessible for collection, the Customer will bear all costs for recovery, including machinery and labour if required. Any damage caused by moving the bin will be charged to the Customer.

6. Use of Skip Bin

  • The Skip Bin must only be used for non-hazardous general waste unless otherwise agreed.
  • The following items are strictly prohibited unless pre-approved by the Company:
    • Asbestos or hazardous waste
    • Chemicals, solvents, liquids, paints, or oils
    • Batteries or gas bottles
    • Tyres and mattresses (unless specifically permitted and subject to extra charges)
    • Food waste or putrescible waste
  • If any of the above items are found, the Company reserves the right to remove and leave the items on site.
  • Additional Charge: tipping fees plus $250 will apply for the disposal of any prohibited items found in the skip bin after collection, regardless of the Customer’s knowledge of the items’ origin.
  • The following items cannot be placed in mixed waste Skip Bins and must be segregated into dedicated skip bins or bags provided by the Company upon request:
    • Concrete (including ground concrete or dust)
    • Tiles
    • Bricks
    • Soil
  • If any of the above items are found in mixed waste skip bins:
    • The Company reserves the right to remove and leave the items on site, or
    • If discovered after collection, the Customer will incur tipping fees plus an additional $250 handling fee will apply, regardless of the Customer’s knowledge of the items’ origin.
  • If disposal of these items is required, please advise at the time of booking to ensure correct arrangements are made.
  • The Customer is solely responsible for the contents of the skip bin, including any materials placed by third parties. Claims of unawareness will not remove liability for any prohibited items or associated charges.

7. Loading of Skip Bin

  • The skip bin must not be overloaded. Waste must not exceed the rim of the skip bin.
  • Overloaded bins may result in refusal of collection and/or additional charges.
  • Additional Charge: $250 will apply if the skip bin is overloaded and requires:
    • Driver to remove excess waste and leave it on-site, or
    • Return collection once the bin has been rectified.
  • The Customer is responsible for ensuring the skip bin is safely and correctly loaded.

8. Liability

  • The Customer is responsible for any damage caused to the skip bin during the hire period.
  • The Company accepts no liability for any injury, damage, or loss caused by misuse of the skip bin or failure to comply with these terms.
  • The Customer indemnifies the Company against any claims arising from the use or placement of the skip bin.

9. Payment

  • Payment must be made in full prior to collection unless account terms have been agreed upon in writing.
  • Additional charges, including excess weight, overfilled bins, prohibited items, or extended hire periods, will be invoiced and must be paid within 7 days.

10. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • The Customer may cancel their skip bin hire at any time prior to delivery without penalty, provided the Company has not yet incurred costs associated with delivery or bin allocation.
  • If the skip bin is already en route, or delivery is attempted but unsuccessful due to cancellation or site inaccessibility, a call-out fee of $250 will apply.
  • Refunds are not applicable, as payment is only invoiced post-delivery.
  • No credit or adjustment will be made for early collection or unused skip bin capacity.

11. Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, and both parties submit to the jurisdiction of its courts.

12. Acceptance of Terms

  • By continuing to use the services of the Company, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
